Mercedes AMG A45 Sports Hatchback

This is the 381bhp engine that underpins Mercedes AMG A45's position as the world's most powerful series-produced 4 cylinder road legal car. Hints of fast can be drawn through it's oversized intakes, canards and diffusers, screaming-red big brake kits, a devilish looking spoiler and twin tailpipes. All these, and still maintaining its svelte body contours of the current Mercedes design language. It would be lovely to shoot this special sports hatchback against Singapore's beautiful iconic skyline. And we did exactly what we need to.

2006 Mitsubishi Evolution 9 GSR X 2009 BMW 135i

It is like a prenuptial shoot all over again. And for the second time in their couple life, their mistress and manstress are also on the set. (Their first was shot at Sepang International Circuit, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. Talk about hardcore petrolheads!)

Presenting Shawn and Justina, who literally drove into each other's lives. He drives the regular-looking white Mitsubishi sedan on steroids - a 2 litre turbocharged Evolution 9 GSR to be exact, while she takes the 300bhp black 135i bimmer coupe. We set off against a beautiful sunrise for some mandatory lovey dovey shots, followed by documenting a small touge skirmish between the passionate husband-and-wife team. Pure fun, and it was all good at the end.

1990 Nissan 180SX/Silvia 2L Turbo

Drifter and lover. Sean is probably one of the rarest breed in Singapore who owns one of the world's most iconic and favourite drifting machine in town - The Nissan Silvia. An engineer by training, Sean is natural with numbers and it helps when he is into (legal) automotive modifications to achieve an optimum output for his ride. With the help of Furukawa tuning, this car hits 394.4hp at 5933 rpm and a max. torque of 487NM @ 5297 rpm! Impressive numbers.

Oh enough said, we almost missed the point of this post! sgCarShoot was engaged by this sweet couple for part of their prewedding shoot, and it was the day when 65mm of rain fell within 30 minutes in the morning, causing the most severe flash floods downtown. The shoot went well regardless, undaunted by the freakish weather.

They had the most fun in different ways while we were busy capturing their best moments in the cooling afternoon sun...

Mazda RX8 1.3L

A nice and peaceful afternoon car shoot was met by the wrath of the rain gods but it did not deter both the owner of the mean-looking Mazda RX8 and us, the sgCarShooters, from capturing some blistering night shots. And we had a guest too.

His name is Raymond and her name is Lynnette. What is more then suitable for this sweet couple? The rear wheeled drive Mazda RX8. And yes, it is a very different coupe in many ways - a rotary engine - using spinning rotors rather than conventional cylinders, and also has the novelty of four doors, with the rear pair hinged at the back, allowing reasonably easy access to the surprisingly spacious rear seats. The 177kw of power and 211Nm of torque propel this car from 0-100 km/hr under 7 seconds.

While the rain beat mercilessly down, the RX8 seemed to get more alive with the wet conditions of the road. This is one car that never appear to get enough of what we have seen in the fast and furious movie.

Event: Volkswagen Scirocco Ladies' Day

This weekend, we bring you to the scene of the Volkswagen Scirocco Ladies' Day at Singapore Grand Prix pit building. Concept's straightforward; lady with the fastest timing of race circuit wins. Mind you, this is a ladies-only event, so car-obsessed enthusiasts would have to park their technical jargon in one corner of the brain and entertain the ladies on a different wavelength.

A little about the history of the Scirocco. As quoted on Wikipedia, "it is a 3-door Coupe small family car manufactured by German automaker Volkswagen, undergoing two generations of development between 1974 and 1992 and reintroduced in a third generation in August 2008." In this reborn version, the redesigned Scirocco looks meaner, stronger and packs a whole lot more power, especially in the special R version as Volkswagen brands it. Its 2.0L TSI engine is rated 265 PS (195 kW; 261 hp) at 6000rpm and 350 N·m (258 lb·ft) at 2500rpm... Didn't we promise ourselves to use less jargon and numbers?
