2013 Audi A1 1.0L Sportback

The owner of this bewitching red Audi A1 Sportback is a fan of lush greens and heritage roads. Well, actually most city dwellers like you and me do. Who wouldn't? Having face the concrete jungle for most of our waking times, we long for that little escape into the wild to get back in touch with mother nature.

The striking Misano red supermini took to the B-roads gladly, much to delight of the owner. The premium 1.0 litre A1 Sportback is a surprising little car. Despite being a 3-cylinder (Audi's first), the engine doesn't sound nor drive like one, thanks to a small turbocharger and direct injection technology. It is adequately fast, nippy and hugs dearly to the tarmac whenever we push it round the corners. Some say it's built to rival a Mini Cooper but in reality, they are two very different cars in terms of drive and styling.

Overall, the A1 Sportback is a very fashionable looking car, and there are no doubts on the equipment and interior luxury trims. With the downsizing of the engine capacity, it is definitely a car built for lower running costs and taxes for the smart urbanites.
